DCU Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship is a non-profit joint venture focused on investments in Irish businesses and startups.
A joint venture between the Ryan family (Ryanair, Tiger Airlines etc) and Dublin City University. The Mission of the Ryan Academy is to promote an entrepreneurial mindset and real innovation focus among Irish businesses, start-ups and social entrepreneurs by providing flexible, customised training and support programmes. Activities include:1. The Business Innovation Programme: is a newly accredited programme (2010) designed to help build in-company innovation capability and find high-quality jobs for unemployed graduates and professionals in Ireland. 2. Propeller Seed Acceleration Fund: Based in Dublin Ireland, this is an early stage seed venture fund similar to those in the US like Y Combinator and Techstars, that offers a mentor-led programme, incubation space and Eur 30,000 for batches of young startup companies in areas such as Internet, cleantech, sensors and informatics. The Ryan Academy for Entrepreneurship is a bridge between the business world and academia and is Irelandâ€:tm:s leading provider of practical, hands-on support, training and finance to all entrepreneurs, both business and social.
