Christopher (Chris) Ré is co-founder of SambaNova Systems and is an associate professor in the Department of Computer Science at Stanford University in the InfoLab who is affiliated with the Statistical Machine Learning Group, Pervasive Parallelism Lab, and Stanford AI Lab. He co-founded a company based on his research that was acquired in 2017.Chris is the lead investigator for DeepDive. He has been a professor of computer science at Stanford since 2013, and was previously a professor at the University of Wisconsin for four years. His research specialty is practical and theoretical problems in data management. Chris has won many awards for his research, including several best paper awards, the Jim Gray Dissertation Award, the National Science Foundation CAREER award, the Alfred P. Sloan Fellowship, and most recently the MacArthur Genius Fellowship.
