The Cooperation Council of the Arab States of the Gulf is a regional organization involving the six Arab Gulf states with many economic and social objectives in mind. The council is comprised of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, and the United Arab Emirates.

The GCC operates with four objectives: to effectively enhance coordination, integration and interconnectivity among member states in all fields with the aim of achieving unity; deepening and strengthening existing inter-relations and ties among their people in all aspects; formulating similar laws and regulations in various fields; including economic and financial affairs, commerce, customs and communications, education and culture, social and health affairs, information and tourism, legislative and administrative affairs; and promoting scientific and technological progress in the fields of industry, mining, agriculture, water and animal resources as well as establishing scientific research centers, joint integration projects, and encouraging cooperation among the private sectors of the member states.
