Alexander Schmitz is an Investment Director at Endeavour Vision, a Geneva-based venture capital firm investing in growth-stage medical device and digital health companies.

Alex has nearly two decades of business and strategy experience in both medical device and high-technology companies. From 2005 to 2014, he helped Biosensors International Group develop its interventional cardiology business, from less than $5 million in annual revenues to more than $300 million. He played a key role in establishing and building the company’s presence across Europe and Asia, most recently serving as vice president of business development, based in Switzerland.

Prior to Biosensors, Alex spent three years with LogiSpring, the corporate venture fund of the TNT Post Group. He previously worked for MicroStrategy, a leading provider of business intelligence software. Alex began his career as a consultant at McKinsey & Company, where he served clients in the aerospace and telecommunications industries, and spent a year with the McKinsey Global Institute.

He earned an MBA from INSEAD and a BSFS, magna cum laude, from Georgetown University’s School of Foreign Service, where he was a Krogh Scholar and a member of Phi Beta Kappa.
