Alexander is a neurosurgeon, researcher, and university professor at the Hospital Pitié-Salpêtrière. Convinced that surgery should undergo a significant change, he has focused his research on minimally invasive therapies under MR control. Since 2005, he has worked with an American team on the development and first clinical testing of a laser probe for the treatment of brain tumors under MR guidance.
