Angel Recalde is a longtime community services professional who has worked in a wide variety of social and community outreach functions. With an extensive career that encompasses work with youth organizations, rehabilitation centers, and athletics centers, Angel brings a rare grasp of the needs of the community in every role that he has performed. Among the highlights of Angel’s professional career is his stint at the New York Organ Donor Network, in which he served as Family Counselor for the Spanish speaking members of the community from November 1999 to August 2002. As Designated Requestor for the affiliated Organ Procurement Organization, Angel was primarily tasked with establishing therapeutic dialogs with family members of deceased individuals. Angel also provided bereaved family members with the opportunity to sign up for the organization’s Gift of Life program, which facilitated organ and tissue donation procedures. Drawing on an extensive professional background that included counseling positions in a number of New York-based youth organizations and rehabilitation centers, Angel approached his role at the Network with unbridled passion and a solid commitment to providing a valuable service to the local community.
