Ann Berry is the Founder, CEO & Managing Partner at Threadneedle, delivering hybrid capital and operating solutions to innovative investment platforms, technology & consumer companies. Ann is a Senior Advisor to Cornell Capital, the $6 billion control private equity firm where she was a Partner and Investment Committee member, having previously spent over a decade at Goldman Sachs. She is also a live TV commentator on business news at BBC, Bloomberg, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox, Sky, and Yahoo (www.annberry.com). Previously, Ann was Chief Investment Officer of media platform Wheelhouse. Her team provided technology & consumer portfolio companies with growth equity and branding campaigns executed on by in-house TV production, digital content and marketing divisions in NYC & LA.
From 2017 to 2021 Ann was a Partner & Investment Committee member at Cornell Capital, the $6 billion private equity firm in New York & Hong Kong where she acquired companies in the consumer, financial and business services sectors. Ann previously spent 11 years at Goldman Sachs, joining the firm’s M&A team in London in 2003, then investing principal private equity globally through 2016. Ann has deployed billions of dollars through take-privates, LBOs and structured financings.
In 2019 through 2020, Ann was also CEO of PureStar, moving to Las Vegas to lead the hospitality services company through COVID-19 and execute on a major operational revamping to drive revenue and margin growth. Under her leadership, PureStar was recognized for groundbreaking diversity in its C-suite and across 30 North American industrial locations with 5,000+ employees.
A director of World Series champion A-Rod’s SLAM Corp. (NYSE: SLAM) and Allure Labs, Ann has also served on the boards of Interline (sold to Home Depot), GCA (sold to ABM), PureStar and others. She is an advisor to Cornell Capital and Anchor Capital.
Ann is a regular markets commentator on Bloomberg, CBS, CNBC, CNN, Fox Business and YahooFinance, and a weekly host on Public.com, the stock trading app with 3 million subscribers.
Ann holds a Double First Class Honors BA in economics from Cambridge University (Trinity College scholar). She received a Kennedy Scholarship to attend Harvard Business School, graduating with an MBA, High Distinction, as Baker Scholar. Ann was the first in her family to attend college and is passionate about equitable financial & educational access.
