Ben is a Principal at Atomico based in London, where he works on sourcing, evaluation, and due diligence of investment opportunities. He is a Member of the Board of Directors of Onna. Ben’s focus is on enterprise software companies, with a particular interest in companies building software powered by emerging technologies including machine intelligence and advanced analytics. He also spends time looking at new and frontier technology developments including in robotics and the Internet of Things.

Ben has been involved in investments into or works closely with Atomico portfolio companies including Oden, CloudNC, Graphcore, Scandit, Streetbees and EVRYTHNG, and sits on the boards of Automation Hero, Hinge Health and Bitmovin.

Prior to joining Atomico as an associate, Ben was a consultant at Bain & Company and a software engineer at Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he developed information systems for traders.

Ben holds a first-class BA in Computer Science from Queens’ College, Cambridge but vintage TV footage proves that Ben had caught the tech bug much earlier in his life: at age seven he was interviewed for the BBC’s ‘Computers Don’t Byte’ program on the growing trend in family home pages (think ‘profile pages’ in the pre-social network era).
