Chris believes artificial intelligence will soon animate the world that the internet connected and electricity illuminated. Prediction, the basic unit of artificial intelligence, is already powerful enough to augment a broad range of human tasks across all industries. He is convinced the AI ecosystem rapidly developing in Canada will foster research and incubate innovative companies that lead the way. He recently founded Ignite AI to help entrepreneurs scale their AI companies.

Previously Chris Matys was the Chief Analytics Officer at Georgian Partners. He joined the firm in 2014 with over 20 years experience in the technology industry and brings with him deep expertise in analytics, data warehousing, software development, predictive models, mobile platforms and digital media.

Earlier roles include 14 years at AC Neilsen in a variety of executive positions related to business intelligence and analytics. Most recently, Chris spent time at Rogers Communications and prior to that was with Motricity (Voltari), where he was responsible for the commercial leadership of Generation5, a pure play predicitve analytics business. Chris works closely with portfolio companies on the development and delivery of applied analytics strategies and is closely involved in the due diligence process for new investments. Chris was also appointed the Asia Pacific CIO for the Neilsen Company, a role that saw him based in Hong Kong for 8 years.
