As VP, Global Head of Software and Bioinformatics for Roche Sequencing Solutions, Christine Bakan leads research and development of genomic sequencing data analysis and interpretation technologies for end-to- end, next generation sequencing solutions being developed at Roche.

Prior to Roche Sequencing Solutions, Christine held senior positions at Cisco Systems where she was responsible for core software technologies, digital network solutions and software defined networking across Cisco’s enterprise switching, routing and mobile/ wireless product lines that generate ~$20 billion in annual revenues. Christine previously led software research and development organizations for cloud IT service management products at BMC Software and in the advanced technology group at Oracle Corporation. She holds four patents related to virtualization, security and performance optimization in Oracle applications and database technologies. Christine holds degrees in Molecular Biology and Neuroscience from UC Berkeley and is a graduate of the Stanford University Business School.
