Conor joined Advent in December 2007. He is responsible for managing a network of leading chairmen, CEOs and non-executive directors with the aim of enhancing Advent’s ability to originate and execute deals as well as maximise the value of portfolio companies. Conor’s main focus is to develop Advent’s Operating Partner Programme. The use of Operating Partners is a long-established element of Advent’s highly operational approach to investing. The programme comprises about 60 top industrialists, many of whom have contributed to the strategic and operational development of multiple Advent investments. Prior to Advent, Conor was with 3i for nine years, initially running the CEO programme. He was then responsible for the development and management of a group of executive chairmen and industrialists for 3i’s European buyout business. Before 3i he held senior marketing and business development positions with Andersen, Linklaters and Mercer Management Consulting. A regular conference speaker, author of articles and media spokesman on management issues, Conor is also a contributor to to Private Equity International’s The Operating Partner in Private Equity and the Financial Times publication, Mastering Entrepreneurship.
