Douglas L. Gilstrap joined Ericsson as the company’s Chief Strategist in October 2009.A 20-year veteran of the ICT industry, Gilstrap came to Ericsson after three years as Strategic Advisor for Cable&Wireless Worldwide.In 2000, he was named CEO of Radianz (now BT Radianz), where he led a team responsible for creating, building, and managing the world’s largest financial extranet, providing a global IP network and hosting services to the financial community. BT Radianz was named Best Financial Network Provider by Waters Magazine, a leading industry publication, for three consecutive years.Gilstrap began his career in the telecommunications and IT industry in 1991, when he joined Societé Internationale de Telecommunications Aeronautiques (SITA), a Paris-based data network cooperative serving the airline industry. There he worked to raise private equity to spin off a business that became Equant Network Services, where he eventually worked as CFO and then COO. Equant later become one of the world’s leading data and IP networking companies, and Gilstrap was instrumental in leading the company’s initial public offering in 1998.Gilstrap holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Richmond in Virginia and an MBA from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He has also completed the INSEAD executive program at Fontainebleau, France.
