Eric Meyhofer is the co-founder and Head of Uber’s Advanced Technologies Group in Pittsburgh PA. Having spent 11 years at Carnegie Mellon University’s Robotics Institute, as a Special Faculty member with a focus on commercializing technology, he has founded several companies. These technology companies span various robotics fields, from 3D mapping of underground mines (Mine Vision Systems, Inc.) to companies that use high power lasers to autonomously de-coat F-16 fighter jets (Titan Robotics, Inc.). However, it is one of his early startups, Carnegie Robotics, LLC., that helped pave the way to landing Uber in Pittsburgh. Eric resides in Pittsburgh with his wife and two children.
