Fernando Chico Pardo, has a B.A. in Business Administration from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City, and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management in Chicago. Over thirty years ago he founded a brokerage firm which later became Grupo Financiero Inbursa, one of Mexico’s largest financial groups, in partnership with Mr. Carlos Slim.

He is currently Chairman and CEO of Promecap, a private equity investment firm dedicated fundamentally to invest in Mexican projects and companies within diverse industries, including, among others, the Financial Sector, Infrastructure, Manufacturing, Real Estate, Oil and Gas and Retail. To date, Promecap, directly and through its private equity platform has made over 50 investments for an amount in excess of $3 billion dollars.

He was a member of the Investments Committee of the United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund for more than a decade, and he is currently the only Latin American Global Compact Board member and leads the effort of this social responsibility initiative in Mexico and Latin America.

Since 2003 he presides over and holds a controlling stake of Grupo Aeroportuario del Sureste S.A.B. (“ASUR”), , a successful example of a privatization effort which operates nine airports in the southeastern region within Mexico, including Cancun, as well as the airport of San Juan Puerto Rico. ASUR is quoted both on the U.S. and Mexican Stock Exchanges (NYSE ticker ASR:US). Under Mr. Chico’s leadership, ASUR serves over 25 million passengers with a combination of intensive growth programs and state of the art technology, while maintaining a strong commitment to labor, social and environmental responsibilities.

He holds a 49% interest and is a Board Member of Carrix, the world’s largest private port and railway operator with terminals in 11 countries, from Vietnam to Chile, going through Panama, Mexico and the western US coast.

He holds a 50% interest in Veolia, French stock quoted company dedicated to waste disposal and water treatment with operations in Mexico.

He serves as a board member of several of Mexico and Latin America’s leading companies within the financial, tourism, industrial, consumer and aviation industries. He is the President of Mexico’s Légion d’Honneur Francaise chapter, and is a member of the French-Mexican Strategic Council, a high level group working in economic, educational and cultural exchanges.

Mr. Chico recently concluded the position as President of the Universidad Iberoamericana’s Trust. This University is classified as one of Mexico’s top three higher education institutions. With more than 17,000 students, Universidad Iberoamericana holds humanism at the core of its values. For ten years, Mr. Chico generated initiatives that not only consolidated its competitiveness, but had an impact on its educational objectives by incorporating a deeply rooted sense of social responsibility.

He actively participates as a benefactor and leader in several non-profit organizations that embrace diverse aspects of Mexico, including health, education, journalism, the environment and the arts.
