Served on the Mayo Clinic Board for 14 years, the last four years as its Chairman, and as President of the Board of Overseers of Harvard University from 2007 through 2008.

Director of HSBC Bank USA from 1990 through 2008 and Director of Wyeth from 2005 until 2009.

Currently Director of Mattel, Inc. and serves as a Trustee on the excecutive committees of the Getty Trust, The School of American Ballet and Second Stage Theatre.
