Guru focuses primarily on investments in the information technology infrastructure area with particular emphasis on networking. His areas of interest include security, cloud, virtualization, data analytics and infrastructure management.

Guru brings over a decade of operational experience, and a deep understanding of technology, to the Lightspeed team. During his operational career, he has been part of three product lines as they’ve gone from inception to over a billion dollar run rate. Guru leverages his product expertise and extensive network in the infrastructure space in helping entrepreneurs through funding and beyond.

Before Lightspeed, Guru was Director of Product Management at Cisco Systems working on the Unified Computing System. UCS is Cisco’s entry into the x86 computing space. At Cisco, Guru helped define the product strategy and roadmaps, and was instrumental in increasing UCS traction in some of Cisco’s largest enterprise accounts. Before Cisco, Guru held operational roles at Nuova Systems (acquired by Cisco Systems), and Tropos Networks.

Guru holds an MS(EE) from Purdue University, a BE(EE) from Punjab University, and a GMP from Harvard Business School. He holds several patents in network infrastructure.
