Haibo Zhao is the Co-founder and CTO at Haystack, the modern intranet company rethinking the employee experience. He leads the product and engineering teams in developing a robust and secure platform that helps mid-size companies connect and align with their employees. Haibo is passionate about managing diverse product portfolios and strategies, and in working closely with partners to drive software innovation.

Previously, Haibo was the tech lead at Snap Inc. where he ran the special forces product experience team for five years. He joined Snap at a very early stage and founded the Snap creatives monetization team. Under Haibo’s leadership, his engineering team built the monetization platform that contributed more than half of Snap’s revenue in 2017-2019. Before that, he was a tech lead at Google overseeing development teams in search ads, Adwords Search, Google Monetization platform and Google Wallet.

Born and raised in a remote village in China, Haibo learned programming on his Nintendo NES so he could build games for himself to avoid paying for expensive game cartridges. He holds a PhD in Computer Science from The University of Georgia and is fluent in English and Chinese.
