Mr. Levine joined Family Dollar, Inc., the company started by his father, in 1981. Holding various roles within the company, Mr. Levine was promoted to Senior Vice President, Merchandising and Advertising in 1996; President and Chief Operating Officer in 1997; and President and Chief Executive Officer in 1998. In 2003, he assumed the position of Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer. Mr. Levine served as CEO of Family Dollar until January 2016.

Mr. Levine was appointed to Dollar Tree's Board in 2015.
