Jason Babcoke is a Managing Director and a co-founder of Sumeru Equity Partners. He joined Silver Lake Sumeru in 2011, the middle market investment strategy of Silver Lake. Mr. Babcoke has fifteen years of operating and investing experience in technology, primarily in software. He continues to maintain responsibility for managing the SLS portfolio.Mr. Babcoke currently serves on the boards of Buildium and BlackLine and is involved in Talend.Prior to joining Silver Lake Sumeru, Mr. Babcoke worked at Symphony Technology Group, investing in mid-market software and technology-enabled service companies across multiple sectors and led a number of investments. Previously, Mr. Babcoke worked for seven years in engineering and operations as a Senior Manager at Applied Biosystems and Director of Engineering for Angstron Systems, a venture-backed company acquired by Novellus. Mr. Babcoke holds an M.B.A. with high distinction (Baker Scholar) from Harvard Business School, a B.S. in Engineering from the University of California, Berkeley, and an M.S. in Management Science and Engineering from Stanford. He also holds five issued patents.
