John leads investments in Clean Energy technology (including early and growth stage) and infrastructure including development and construction stage assets. John has led investments in NTR, NTR Funds, Pod Point, Oxford Photovoltaics, Tokamak Energy Ltd and Upside Energy. John’s role is to explore opportunities to increase Legal & General’s exposure to the UK clean energy sector, particularly seeking long-term partnerships with developers, operators and technology providers. John has 20 years’ experience working in infrastructure investment, including PPP/PFI projects in the water, wastewater, waste-to-energy, health and defence sectors. Prior to joining LGC in 2015, John managed an institutional equity fund and asset management team based in Europe with a portfolio of 15 utility-scale renewable energy assets (c.800MW) located throughout Europe, including onshore wind, offshore wind and solar. John led the fund’s consortium investment in the construction of the 367MW Walney Offshore Wind Farm - the first UK offshore wind project to be funded by institutional equity. John supported colleagues in L&G with the latest debt financing of an extension to the Walney asset.
