Kathy Warden is corporate vice president and president of Northrop Grumman’s Information Systems sector, a leading global provider of advanced solutions for defense, intelligence, civil agency and commercial customers. Warden is a member of the company’s Corporate Policy Council.In this role, Warden oversees large-scale, mission-critical systems and complex hardware and software products within the U.S. and internationally in areas such as command, control and communications; cybersecurity and identity management; homeland security; health, public safety and enterprise infrastructure; and intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) and ground systems.Most recently, Warden was sector vice president and general manager, Cyber Intelligence division Northrop Grumman Information Systems.Warden has extensive experience in operational leadership and business development in government and commercial markets. Previously, she was vice president for the Cyber and SIGINT business unit in the sector’s Intelligence Systems division. She joined Northrop Grumman in 2008 as vice president, Strategic Initiatives, where she was responsible for ISR market strategies including key growth campaigns in cyber and intelligence information sharing.Prior to joining the company, Warden was vice president, Intelligence Systems at General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems, where she led the Intelligence Systems business unit. Previously, Warden was a senior vice president at Veridian Corporation where she led a business unit delivering ISR capability in support of space programs and led strategic pursuits with the Department of Defense and intelligence agencies.Earlier, Warden was a principal in a venture Internet firm where she consulted with Fortune 500 companies on Internet use to expand their business models, and led development teams to deliver e-publishing, e-commerce and e-marketing solutions.Warden spent nearly a decade with General Electric Company working in commercial industries. She began her GE career as a systems engineer and later served as corporate auditor, strategy and merger and acquisitions director, and director of the global services operating unit of GE Information Services.Warden has a bachelor’s degree from James Madison University and a master’s degree in business administration from George Washington University. She served as an advisor in the mid-1990s to the Internet Advisory Council formed under former Vice President Al Gore. She served as chair of the Executive Mosaic Cyber Group in 2011-2012. She is the Northrop Grumman Information Systems executive chair for the University of Maryland school systems and oversees the Northrop Grumman University Cyber Research Consortium.
