Keith Daubenspeck (AEI Chairman and Co-founder) has had an eventful 22-year career in the securities industry. He was the architect behind three of the largest retail brokerage businesses in Chicago during his tenure at Lehman Bros., Oppenheimer and Bear Stearns.In 1999 Keith Daubenspeck founded Advanced Equities, Inc (AEI).

He served as Chairman and CEO from 1999 until 2003, when he assumed the role of Executive Chairman. Among his numerous responsibilities for the overall operation and strategy of the firm, he serves as the head of investment banking and oversees the company’s many important VC relationships. He also sits on the Board of Directors for several of AEI’s portfolio companies, including Alien Technologies, Motricity, and Metric Stream.

In addition, Keith Daubenspeck is a partner or manager of numerous LLC’s, managing over one billion dollars of investments in technology companies.In his spare time, Keith is an avid Chicago sports fan and golfing enthusiast, and is a member of the renowned Medinah Country Club. Among his many outside interests, he is a serious student of history with a special knowledge of and affinity for the Civil War Era.
