Mark leads the research and development efforts behind iRhythm’s innovative devices and software systems.

He brought his combined technical and business management background to iRhythm in 2007, after three years with Medtronic’s Cardiac Rhythm Disease Management division, where he led several strategy development projects related to Medtronic’s initiatives to leverage information from implanted medical devices to enhance patient care and competitive differentiation.

Prior to joining Medtronic, Mark was a co-founder and CTO of CarePages, Inc (now part of Waterfront Media), a service that launched in 2000 to provide hospital-sponsored blogs for patients experiencing chronic or acute medical care.

Mark received an MBA in Marketing from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania, where he graduated as a Palmer Scholar and received the Paul Green Award for Knowledge Creation.

He also holds Ph.D. in Computation Flow Physics from Stanford University, funded by an international scholarship from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada.

Mark also received an M.S. from Stanford, and a B.Sc. from Queen’s University, both in Mechanical Engineering.
