Mark has worked in the financial services industry since 1993. He has led Wellington's growth from its inception as a $7 million fund in 2000 to its current $450 million investment program ($150 million fund size). He was a Managing Director and Head of Technology Investment Banking of Orion Securities (now Macquarie Capital Markets) from January 2000 until December 2004, when he joined Wellington Financial on a full-time basis.

Prior to January 2000, he was part of a team that advised on over $25 billion in transactions as a member of the Mergers and Acquisitions group at a BMO Nesbitt Burns Inc.

Mark received credit training at Bank of Montreal and was certified for commercial lending in 1995. Prior to 1993, he worked as an executive assistant and advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of Canada. He was educated at The University of Western Ontario (1988).

At the present time he serves as Chairman of the Toronto Port Authority, a member of the Governing Council of Sunnybrook Hospital and is a member of the board of directors for the Canadian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association (CVCA). Mark is a former Governor of the University of Western Ontario and is a past director of several public and private companies and community organizations.
Currently Mark is also a member of the Globe and Mail's advisory business panel for Business Incubator.
