Michael J. Ward has served since 2013 as a member of the Nanosphere board of directors, chairman of our Corporate Governance and Nominating Committee and member of our Audit Committee.

Mr. Ward is a financial consultant and also serves on the boards of the following healthcare companies: CytoPherx, Inc., an acute renal failure-focused therapeutic medical device company based in Ann Arbor, MI, and Impact Health, an on-site health screening services company based in King of Prussia, PA.

Mr. Ward was previously a Director at Lurie Investments, Inc., a major Nanosphere shareholder, where he was responsible for managing investment activities.

Prior to joining Lurie Investments, Inc. in 2009, Mr. Ward gained over 15 years of investment banking experience at Credit Suisse, Prudential Securities, Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, BMO and Leerink Swann.
