Michael Rhodes is the Group Head, Innovation, Technology and Shared Services, TD Bank Group as of November 1, 2017.

Prior to this role, Michael was the Head of Consumer Bank and Wealth Management at TD Bank, America’s Most Convenient Bank®. In this position, Michael and the broader team helped drive industry leading growth, three JD Power wins for Customer Experience, and substantially improved employee engagement. Michael joined TD in 2011 to lead the North American Credit Card and Merchant Services business, where he helped guide significant growth in our cards and payments business. TD's card business is now the largest in Canada (from the smallest of the top 5) and among the top issuers in North America.

Prior to joining TD, Michael held a variety of roles within the payments and banking sector, including CEO of a portfolio company backed by a top-tier private equity fund, GTCR; and, CEO of MBNA Europe Bank Limited, where he expanded the business into the largest card issuer in Europe, and doubled profits.

His experience in the financial services industry spans more than 25 years and includes senior leadership roles at Bank of America and MBNA America Bank. He has worked in the United States, the United Kingdom, Spain, Ireland and Canada. Michael began his career as an engineer where he worked for Failure Analysis Associates, the world's leading forensic engineering consulting firm.

Michael is active in supporting several important social causes. Currently, Michael serves on the Board of Directors of the Boys and Girls Club of Delaware and the Board of Visitors for the Engineering School at Duke University. Prior community boards include the Chair of the United Way of Delaware, a member of the Board for the Thurgood Marshall Scholarship Fund, Christiana Care Health Systems, the Delaware Symphony Orchestra; and Winterthur Garden Museum and Library.

Michael earned his Master of Business Administration from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. He also holds an engineering degree from Duke University. He resides in Wilmington, Delaware.
