Michael S. Brown joined ExxonMobil in 1980 as a Financial Analyst. He has held several managerial positions at the Joliet, IL, and Beaumont, TX, refineries. In 1996, Mike joined the Houston Gas Liquids group as General Manager of North America Gas Liquids, responsible for the U.S., Mexico and business development for South America and Canada.

Brown's next position was to lead the business process reengineering and SAP rollout for the U.S.-based Upstream, Downstream and Global Chemical assets of Mobil Corporation. Following the merger of Exxon and Mobil in 1999, Brown led a comparable effort for the combined company. In 2002, he was named Refinery Manager at the Baytown, TX, Refinery and then returned to Houston in 2005 as the GTL Project Executive for ExxonMobil Development Company. In January 2006 he was assigned Executive Assistant to ExxonMobil’s Chairman in Irving, Texas. In October 2006 Brown was named Vice President Refining, assuming responsibility for ExxonMobil’s worldwide refinery circuit. In March 2009, he was appointed Project Executive of the U.S. Real Estate Strategy Study Project. In July 2011, he assumed his current position as IT Vice President of ExxonMobil.
