Mike Vernal is a partner on the early stage investing team at Sequoia Capital. He currently sits on the board of Citizen, Jumpstart, rideOS, Rockset, and Threads. He was previously on the board at Houseparty (Epic Games) and led Sequoia’s investment in Verkada. Prior to joining Sequoia, Mike was a VP at Facebook. He led product, engineering, and design for large pieces of the Facebook app (including Search, Profile and Platform) and was the co-creator of Facebook Login and the Graph API. He later led the teams that created Facebook’s Mobile App Ads, Audience Network and Facebook’s Search Product. Before Facebook, he was a product and engineering lead at Microsoft. Mike earned a BA and MS in Computer Science from Harvard University.
