Neal Wolin is the Chief Executive Officer of the Brunswick Group, a global critical issues advisory firm. He is also an equity partner at Data Collective Venture Capital and a board partner at the Social + Capital Partnership. Neal is a member of the board of SigFig, a digital wealth management company, and Appriss, a data and analytics company focused on health care, the retail sector and public safety.

Neal Wolin was Deputy Secretary of the Treasury from May 2009 until September 2013. Neal Wolin served as Acting Secretary of the Treasury in January and February 2013.

Prior to his confirmation as Deputy Secretary, Neal Wolin served in the Obama White House as Deputy Counsel to the President for Economic Policy.

Before joining the Obama Administration, Neal Wolin was President and Chief Operating Officer of the property and casualty insurance companies of The Hartford Financial Services Group. He previously served as Executive Vice President and General Counsel of The Hartford and oversaw the company’s law, government affairs, communications, marketing and tax functions.

Neal Wolin has also been the General Counsel of the U.S. Department of the Treasury; Executive Assistant to the National Security Advisor; Deputy Legal Adviser to the National Security Council; and Special Assistant to three Directors of Central Intelligence.

He received a B.A. degree in history, summa cum laude, from Yale College; an M.Sc. in Development Economics from the University of Oxford; and a J.D. from Yale Law School.
