Dr. Paul Mangiamele comes from a background of human-computer interaction, computer science, and bioinformatics. His PhD thesis was on building a better interface for biologists as end-users. His doctoral and post-doctoral studies were developing novel sequencing techniques and visualizations to find pathogenic strains of e. coli and meningitis. UXBio was started as a company to build applications for biologists to have better tools for research and publication. Since 2016, UXBio has joined forces with Modern Pathogen Detection to launch a new company, yuFlu. While these companies grow, Paul has been developing and refining user interfaces for biologists, oncologists, lab users, clinicians, and doctors to better understand mutation analysis of cancerous tissue (FFPET) and plasma detection (ctDNA).
