Peter Hiom joined the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) in July 2006 following the successful merger of the Australian Stock Exchange and SFE Corporation (SFE). Appointed Deputy CEO in April 2010, Peter has responsibility for the development of all ASX businesses. These include Listings and Issuer Services, Trade Execution and Technical Services, Market Information Services, Derivatives and OTC Markets and Clearing and Settlement Services.

Before joining ASX, Peter was Executive General Manager - Business Development for SFE, with responsibility for the development of the Sydney Futures Exchange and Austraclear. During his time at SFE, which he joined in 1998, the Exchange successfully expanded its offshore distribution, product offering, and grew the derivatives franchise to be the 5th largest in the world. Prior to joining SFE, Peter worked for the London International Financial Futures Exchange for nine years where he held a number of management roles within the Business Development and Information Technology divisions.
