Peter Sterling is the President of Coastland Capital, an asset management firm with approximately $1b AUM. Peter’s responsibilities include serving as the Portfolio Manager of the Coastland Direct Yield Fund, a short-duration credit vehicle focused on specialty finance including Fintech assets, as well as general consumer and small business receivables. He also oversees the firm’s global marketing efforts. Prior to joining Coastland, Sterling underwrote several privates equity and non-performing loan investments from the consumer and commercial credit card industries. From 2001-2005, he worked as a Portfolio Manager at Marin Capital and KBC Alternative Investment Management, focusing on credit arbitrage strategies. In 1999, Mr. Sterling was hired into D.E. Shaw’s Financial Products group, which was subsequently sold to KBC Bank, and managed the U.S. Convertible Bond Arbitrage portfolio at KBC Financial Products until 2001. Before that, Peter Sterling worked at Gateway Partners, an equity derivative trading firm on the floors of the American and Philadelphia Stock Exchanges. He received a B.A. with a dual major in economics and psychology from Cornell University.
