Ralph Macchio is Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development at Coty Inc. Additionally, he is a member of the Executive Committee. Mr. Macchio is responsible for all Scientific Affairs and Global Regulatory Affairs at the Company and the Global Consumer Affairs team. He has 30 years of cosmetic research and development experience.

Since joining the Company in 1992, Mr. Macchio has held various positions of increasing responsibility at Coty Inc. Prior to becoming Chief Scientific Officer and Senior Vice President of Global Research and Development in 2007, Mr. Macchio served as Vice President of Global Research and Development.

Mr. Macchio is a champion of innovation in all categories and has been leading the efforts towards Coty’s sustainability program. In 2011, under his leadership, the Consumer Goods Technology Group awarded Coty the Achievement in Innovation Award and recognized Coty as one of the world’s most innovative companies. He is the author of numerous patents and publications. In 2007, his efforts were recognized by his peers in the health and beauty industry when he received the Lifetime Achievement Award in Product Innovation.

Prior to joining Coty, Mr. Macchio held several positions at Revlon Inc., where, during his 12-year tenure, he advanced from a Junior Chemist to the position of Departmental Manager, Color Cosmetics. He received degrees in Biochemistry and Chemistry from the State University of New York at Albany.
