Renuka Ramnath is the Founder, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Multiples Alternate Asset Management Private Limited since 2009. Renuka brings on board her deep experience of raising, investing and returning third party capital across several economic cycles. Renuka looks to build Multiples as a platform to channelise long-term capital to create valuable enterprises and successful entrepreneurs. Renuka draws motivation from the fact that supporting entrepreneurs to build sustainable businesses has the potential to generate employment, to create ripple effects in the Indian economy and to facilitate the greater process of nation building.

Renuka has spent over two and half decades in the Indian financial sector across private equity, investment banking and structured finance. As one of the early private equity investors in India, Renuka played a pivotal role in shaping the market both in terms of leading pioneering investments such as buy-outs as well as opening new pockets of capital for investment in Indian private equity.

In her last role as the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at ICICI Venture for close to a decade, Renuka has contributed in many ways to the evolution of that firm to one of the largest private equity funds in India.

Renuka is a Member of the Board of Directors at Tata Telecommunications.

Time and again, Renuka has demonstrated her ability to identify and conceptualize new business opportunities, create high quality teams and quickly build these businesses to scale. As a result, Renuka has featured in many prestigious listings, including the Top 25 Most Powerful Women in Business (Business Today, India), India’s most Powerful CEO’s (Economic Times) and in the Top 25 Non Bank Women in Finance (US Banker’s global list).

Renuka currently serves as a Member of the Board of Directors at Vastu Housing Finance, Avighna India Ltd, UltraTech Cement Ltd, Institutional Investor Advisory Services India Limited, Tata Communications, Air India Ltd and Arvind Limited.

Renuka, a mother of two, enjoys singing Indian classical music. Renuka is a connoisseur of paintings and likes to spend time at her farm watching a fresh harvest.

Renuka holds a Bachelor of Engineering from VJTI, University of Mumbai and an MBA from the University of Mumbai. Renuka has also completed the AMP from the Harvard Business School.
