Richard has been giving companies a competitive edge via strategic finance and M&A for more than 20 years. His expertise spans investment banking and executive finance at a late stage technology start-up. He is currently chief financial officer at FiscalNote, where he leads capital raising, investor relations, budgeting and financial planning as well as financial operations.

Prior to FiscalNote, Richard was an investment banker for Goldman Sachs and UBS, underwriting and executing complex financings to support M&A transactions on behalf of corporate and private equity clients. And earlier in his career, Richard invested equity and mezzanine capital into investment opportunities and conducted extensive due diligence to support such transactions while at Ripplewood Holdings and AlpInvest Partners. He began his career with Salomon Brothers.

On the start-up side, Richard was a senior executive on the finance and capital markets teams at Kabbage, a financial services data and technology company that provides automated lending to small businesses.
