Robert Denham was elected to the Board of Directors of The New York Times Company in 2008. Robert serves as the board’s Presiding Director. Robert is also a Committee Member in Finance (Chair) and Nominating & Governance. Robert has been a Partner of the law firm of Munger, Tolles & Olson LLP from 1973 to 1991 and since 1998. During the interim years, Robert served as Chief Executive Officer of Salomon Inc from 1992 to 1998, subsequent to joining the firm as General Counsel in 1991. Robert is also a Member of the Board of Directors of Chevron Corporation (since 2004), Fomento Económico Mexicano, S.A. de C.V. and Oaktree Capital Group, LLC. Robert is a magna cum laude graduate of the University of Texas, where he was elected to Phi Beta Kappa. Robert received a Master’s degree in Government from Harvard University and his J.D. from Harvard Law School, where he graduated magna cum laude and was a case and developments editor of the Harvard Law Review.
