Robert Rohling is a Professor with a joint appointment in Electrical and Computer Engineering & Mechanical Engineering at UBC. Dr. Rohling’s research is in the field of biomedical engineering with specialization in medical ultrasound. His current research areas include adaptive ultrasound, 3-D ultrasound, elastography, and image-guided surgery, and he currently teaches Medical Imaging and Selected Topics in Biomedical Engineering at UBC.

Robert Rohling received the B.A.Sc. degree in engineering physics from the University of British Columbia, the M.Eng. degree in biomedical engineering from McGill University, and the Ph.D. degree in information engineering from the University of Cambridge. He is the coordinator of the Biomedical Engineering option and Mechatronics option at UBC, and is also a member of DICOM on multidimensional interchange to set the standards for communicating medical images.
