Roel de Hoop is Partner. He joined the fund as a Venture Partner in 1999. Roel was a successful entrepreneur in Internet and software industries, with expertise and considerable experience in international sales and marketing. He founded Hot-Orange in 1998 and was a CEO of this company.

Prior to Hot-Orange he joined the Dutch-based software company Prolin as a partner in 1992. As senior vice president for strategic alliances and co-owner, he played a significant role in the successful acquisition of Prolin by Hewlett-Packard in 1997.

Roel began his career with Driessen Aircraft Interior Systems, the market leader in the manufacturing and sales of aircraft catering equipment.

Since the acquisition of Prolin, Roel acts as an investor and coach of technology start-up companies, actively supporting their expansion.
Roel holds a BA degree in Business Administration. Roel served on the board of directors of Human Inference (sold to financial investors), Q-Go (acquired by RightNow). He currently serves on the board of Mendix and is actively involved with GenKey and AppLift.
