Ruby A. Zefo is vice president of Law and Policy Group and serves as associate general counsel and chief privacy and security counsel at Intel Corporation. She leads the group that provides Intel with global legal counseling related to privacy, data security and cybersecurity.Zefo also manages the teams responsible for global legal support of the company’s IT department, as well as Intel’s Trademarks and Brands Group, which oversees all aspects of Intel’s worldwide trademark practice.Zefo joined Intel in 2003 as managing counsel for trademarks and brands and subsequently took on broadened roles and responsibilities. Among her prior positions, she served as legal director for Intel’s Corporate Affairs Group, including the Intel Foundation. Her career has also included an Intel Achievement Award for her management of corporate rebranding legal work in 2006.Before joining Intel, Zefo spent 7 years at Sun Microsystems Inc., first as trademark counsel and most recently as assistant general counsel for marketing and brands. Earlier in her legal career, she was a litigation associate with Fenwick & West LLP in Palo Alto, Calif.Zefo earned her bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of California, Berkeley, and her law degree from Stanford Law School.
