Rusty Tweed has been active in real estate transactions since he was 22 years old, when he bought his first rental in his hometown of Toronto, Canada. He was able to buy his second Toronto rental property a few years later. Rusty eventually relocated to Los Angeles, CA, in 1987, using his passive income streams. Rusty began locating and flipping foreclosures soon after arriving in Southern California, and had completed well over 30 real estate flips prior to the early 1990s real estate meltdown.A 1031 Tax-Deferred Exchange was first introduced to Rusty in 2004. Rusty was then employed by Del Exeter, a local CPA in Monrovia, California. Del introduced Rusty to his son Bill Exeter, the Exchange Division Head at Chicago Title Company. With Bill's guidance, he rapidly caught up, and his 1031 Exchange operations went down without a hitch.Rusty has now aided his clients in well over 100 property transfers. Rusty has successfully completed more over $500 million in 1031 exchanges.
