Ryan has spent more than twenty years as an investor and investment banker working with growth companies in the digital media, software-as-a-service, publishing, and business and consumer services sectors. In 2000 he co-founded Catalyst Investors, a New York-based growth equity firm focused on tech-enabled services businesses.

He currently serves on the boards of Videology, WeddingWire and Reputation Institute and is a board observer of MediaMath and Mindbody. He previously served on the boards of Advantage Business Media, Aspire Media, Las Vegas TV Partners and MessageLabs Group.

Prior to joining Catalyst, Ryan was a Vice President and shareholder of Daniels & Associates (now RBC Capital Markets) where he was primarily responsible for leading financings and M&A assignments for more than 50 emerging companies within the media and telecommunications industry. From 1989 to 1992, he was an investment banker in the Media and Telecommunications Group of Bear, Stearns & Co. Inc.

He received an AB with honours from Harvard College.
