William Hernandez is a Member of the Board of Directors at Albemarle Corporation, Northrop Grumman (since 2013) and Black Box Corporation (since 2009).

Previously, William served as Senior Vice President of Finance and Chief Financial Officer of PPG Industries, Inc., a manufacturer of chemical and industrial products, until his retirement in 2009. Prior to that, William was PPG’s Corporate Controller from 1990 to 1994.

From 1974 until 1990, William held a number of positions at Borg-Warner Corporation, including Assistant Controller, Chemicals; Controller, Chemicals; Business Director, ABS Polymers; Assistant Corporate Controller; Vice President, Finance and Chief Financial Officer, Borg-Warner Automotive, Inc.

Earlier in his career, William was a Financial Analyst for Ford Motor Company.

William is a certified management accountant and has taught finance and management courses at Marietta College. William was named Best CFO for the Chemical Industry four times by Institutional Investor magazine.

William earned a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from the University of Pennsylvania’s Wharton School and a MBA from the Harvard Business School.
