Parrett, 69, is a former Senior Partner of Deloitte & Touche USA LLP, a public accounting firm. Parrett retired in 2007. From 2003 to 2007, he served as the Chief Executive Officer of Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu (DTT).

Prior to serving as Chief Executive Officer of DTT, he was Managing Partner of Deloitte & Touche USA since 1999. Parrett joined Deloitte in 1967 and served in a series of roles of increasing responsibility.

Parrett currently serves as a director of The Blackstone Group L.P., an investment and advisory firm; Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc., a provider of analytical and laboratory instruments and products; IGATE Corporation, a provider of service solutions; and UBS AG, a global financial services firm.
