Wray Thorn joined Two Sigma in May 2012 and leads the company’s Private Investments and Ventures businesses. Wray has spent his career identifying, financing, structuring, and investing in private investment transactions and management buyout transactions, including being involved in 17 stand-alone management buyouts, 37 add-on acquisitions, realizations, corporate financings, fundraisings and other principal transactions, and 10 leverage financings totaling approximately $25 billion in aggregate consideration. Prior to joining the company, Wray was a senior managing director with Marathon Asset Management, L.P., where he developed and led the company’s private equity business and a number of other new business opportunities, investor-related activities and capital formation initiatives. Prior to Marathon, Wray worked as a director with Fox Paine & Company, LLC and as a principal with Dubilier & Company, LLC. He began his career in the Acquisition Finance Group at Chemical Bank (today, JPMorgan Chase) financing corporate and private equity-sponsored acquisitions. Wray has served as a member of the Board of Directors and various Board committees of 12 public and private companies. In 1993, Wray graduated with an A.B. in government (cum laude) from Harvard University.
