Yusuf Ozdalga currently works as a Principal with QED Investors which he joined in 2017 with a focus on London and the portfolio of European investments.Prior to joining QED, Yusuf was an active investor in MENA and Turkey for eight years, where he sourced, executed, and exited investments across several sectors with a strong focus on implementing data driven decision making. Most recently he served as an Investment Director at NCB Capital (formerly known as Eastgate Capital), a private equity platform based out of Dubai. At Eastgate, he set up the fund’s Turkish office and served on the Boards and Executive Committees of various portfolio companies across the region. Prior to joining Eastgate, Yusuf was a Director with Unicorn Capital where he was responsible for leading the Turkish private equity team. In addition to many direct investments, during this period he also founded and built up Frukton, an agri-food production and logistics start up located in Antalya which he later exited.Yusuf started his professional investing career in 2006 as a Director with the Principal Finance group at Lehman Brothers in London, investing in and funding specialty finance and consumer credit companies in Europe, including early fintech plays such as online loan originators.Before starting his investing career, Yusuf worked with JPMorgan in London and New York as an Associate in the Mergers and Acquisitions department. His main focus was on serving specialty finance companies and regional banks, including credit card companies, mortgage originators, and other specialty lenders.Yusuf started his career at Capital One where he worked between the years 1997 – 2001. His responsibilities included account management credit policy for the subprime credit card portfolio, credit risk management and forecasting, evaluating new credit delivery channels, and customer retention strategies.Yusuf holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business with High Honors, and a BS in Commerce from the University of Virginia McIntire School of Commerce with Distinction. He completed his undergraduate degree with a dual concentration in Finance and MIS.Yusuf is fluent in English, Turkish, and Swedish and has a working knowledge of German. He is currently studying Bosnian/Serbo-Croatian.
