In 2011, Mr. Rose founded Suffolk Ventures to serve as an investment vehicle in entertainment and technology companies. Since Suffolk Ventures was established, it has become an active player in seed stage and early stage investments in start up entities. The company holds a diversified portfolio of a dozen companies in various stages of growth.In addition to business interests, Mr. Rose also follows his long held interests in the effect of technology and entertainment on medical and social issues. In 2011, he started THE ROSE FAMILY FOUNDATION, a 501c3 charitable foundation committed to the exploration and promotion of the use of video game technology and know-how in education, medicine, and other areas of social impact. Current projects include ESCoNS – Entertainment Software and Cognitive Neurotherapeutics Society, researching the use of games in various areas of neuroscience and brain disease therapy; formation of The Rose Family Fellowships at the University of Southern California Film School program on design and development of video games; work with Web Wise Kids Foundation in promoting video games in learning safer use of the Internet; support for Idaho BaseCamp, a facility dedicated to education, creative expression and the development of a sustainable relationship with nature; and support of and advice for The Smithsonian Institution's exhibition on The Art of Video Games.Mr. Rose became Executive Vice President and Chief Public Policy Officer of Activision Blizzard in November 2009 and retired at the end of 2012 to pursue personal investment and consulting interests.Prior to that, he served as the Chief Legal Officer from July 2008 to November 2009 and was Chief Legal Officer of Activision Publishing from September 2007 until July 2008, when the transaction with Vivendi Games was consummated. Mr. Rose joined Activision Blizzard in July 1995 and held various positions of increasing responsibility within the Business and Legal Affairs Department from then until November 2009, including serving as Senior Vice President, General Counsel and Secretary of Activision Blizzard from April 2000 until September 2007.Prior to joining Activision Blizzard, Mr. Rose was in private practice in Los Angeles from 1986 to 1995.Mr. Rose holds a B.B.A. degree from the University of Michigan and a J.D. degree from Harvard Law School.
