Karen has spent nearly 20 years working at the intersection of people and technology. She conducted research and analysis for the Global Climate and Energy Project, Sandia National Laboratories, U.S. Department of Energy, U.S. Department of Homeland Security, National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, California Energy Commission, and Air Resources Board, as well as numerous NGOs and private companies. In London, she built Medallia's professional services operations for its EMEA headquarters and led enterprise SaaS implementation & customer success teams. She currently manages Infinite Community Ventures, a social venture fund to build and strengthen communities through Sustainability, Equitable Empowerment, and the Arts, using vehicles along the investing-philanthropy spectrum. As an advocate for women and BIPOC in leadership and STEM, she is frequently engaged as a speaker, workshop leader, advisor, fundraiser, and volunteer for community-focused organizations. Karen received B.S. and M.S. degrees in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University and was named the American Society of Mechanical Engineers "New Face of Engineering" in 2012. She is an active member of the Society of Women Engineers and a signatory of the Business for Racial Equity pledge and the Silicon Valley Nonprofit Racial Equity Pledge.
