Katie Hughes works with DFJ's entrepreneurs to create and drive their recruitment strategies.

Prior to joining DFJ, Katie built a recruiting firm in San Francisco where she worked with enterprise SaaS and consumer internet startups such as Box, ShareThis, Okta, and Meraki. She implemented sales operations, led day-to-day management, and executed partnerships with venture capital firms, incubators, and angel investors. However, it was in building her own team of 35 employees that Katie gained a broader understanding of human capital: identifying gaps in the organization before they detract from the business, sourcing, interviewing and closing candidates, compensation benchmarking, onboarding, training, productivity tools, management and retention, to name just a few.

Katie is a graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She serves on the leadership committee of Summer Search, a non-profit dedicated to helping underprivileged students find meaningful work. Her personal goal is to travel to one new international destination every year.
