Brian Deery is the Chief Technology Officer at Factom. As an early innovator in technology, Brian built a self-driving Lotus Elise which competed in the 2007 DARPA Urban Grand Challenge. The race competition included a precursor to Google’s driverless car. Later, he was caught by the elegance of Bitcoin and spent several years studying it. In early 2014, he took the plunge and became a full-time entrepreneur in the blockchain space, turning a multiyear passion into a profession.Previously, he served as an R&D Engineer at Pentair, Ltd where he designed and brought to market an underwater energy harvesting device. His professional accomplishments include managing the quality control robots certifying ~$30M of yearly production at MTS Systems Corporation, and building a computerized electrical component installed in thousands of Harley-Davidson motorcycles at the Eaton Corporation as a Design Engineer. Brian has both Computer and Electrical Engineering degrees from North Carolina State University.
