Costa M. Colbert has been chasing down how brains work, both real and artificial, for about 30 years. He is mostly known for experimental and theoretical studies of neural processing in pyramidal neurons of the mammalian hippocampus and neocortex, but he also built perhaps the first large scale multi-GPU neural network simulator in 2007 when CUDA was still at version 0.2. At MAD Street Den, through the e-commerce brand VUE.ai, his team is using modern deep learning techniques to bring intelligent automation to the fashion industry.
